I am a bit annoyed because there is a new lead human in command on the yard. I went for a hack in the Park last week and he was riding my little grey Whizzy Friend. Whizzy Friend has not done as much hacking in the Park as me, so I was looking forward to some lovely grazing time on our hack when he whizzed. But the new human was not at all bothered when Whizzy Friend spooked at things, and so I got no snacking time at all. Crushing. I must speak to her about that, perhaps I could persuade her the trees eat horses so as to guarantee more snacks next time?
Lots of the staff and owners went to see some dressage convention a few months ago, and apparently Carl Hester showed them lots of interesting things. I hope they don’t do this again, as the lead lady seems to be even more persuaded that I need to engage my back end in transitions. My back end is larger than most, and the woman has no idea how much energy it takes to engage it!
I am still feeling a little lovelorn, as my little black Furry Friend has moved away. Apparently his rider had outgrown him and he’s gone on loan to a smaller sized human. I am told that she is lovely and will look after him very well. I’m pleased he’s found nice new human, but I really do think that, as his girlfriend, I should have been consulted before this was agreed. He’s not moving far away, but apparently there are mares on his new yard so who knows if he’ll remember me...
In light of Furry Friend’s departure, I have been considering the remaining boyfriend material. Long Legs who lives next to me is definitely very handsome, but I think he may be a bit too posh for my liking. He’s so posh, his back end is always engaged - it’s most annoying, because when we’re in the school together, it inspires my human to try to engage my back end. Long Legs even goes sideways with an engaged back! Apparently it’s called a half pass, but I’m not sure it’s very manly. Plus he has sparkly bits on his bridle. So I’m not sure about him. Plus, he goes out to clinics a lot, and who knows how many mares he meets while he’s out?
We do have a box free now that Furry Friend as gone, so you never know - Mr Right may be just one lorry ride away. I’m keeping my ears pricked….
